Manuscript, in multiple hands, of a collection of nine booklets containing primarily satirical poetry, many on political subjects. Such satirical verses include Sir John Denham's Directions to a painter; An epistle from Jemmy Singleton to his friend Tom Pullen about the election race, accompanied by a key to the names in the poem; An invitation to Sir Matthew Wentworth to hasten out of Ireland into England with a congratulation for the great estate which falls to him by the death of Sir Thomas Wentworth; Upon that vain conceited fop; and George Eyre's Epitaph on John Barnes. The collection also includes serious poetry: one booklet contains only Biblical poetry; another contains a serious poem by Godfrey Bosvile on the moors of England; and yet another booklet contains an elegy "on the best of men and choysest of friends," by Richard Thornton.
